For my english ISU presentation, we are expected to present the thesis of our novel and relate our thesis to other mediums in our society today like poems, songs, movies, other novels. Anything like that.

The novel i am doing is my sister's keeper by jodi picoult and my thesis basically states that when one family member becomes ill, it can affect the entire family, often leading to imbalance and problems.

Could you give me some good mediums I could use to relate to my novel and also fun/creative ideas to present this entire thing.

Thanks in advance.

Have you seen the movie Stepmom? I definitely recommend watching it, and doing something with that. I believe that it is similar to My Sister's Keeper.

Certainly! To relate your thesis from the novel "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult to other mediums in our society today, you can explore various avenues such as poems, songs, movies, or other novels that address similar themes of the impact of illness on families. Here are some suggestions:

1. Poems:
- "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night" by Dylan Thomas: This poem explores the emotions and struggles that arise when a loved one is facing illness or death.
- "The Sick Rose" by William Blake: This poem metaphorically depicts the destructive nature of illness and its effects on relationships.

2. Songs:
- "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus: Although not directly about illness, this song revolves around overcoming challenges and how one person's struggles can affect those around them.
- "Fix You" by Coldplay: This emotional song touches on the idea of offering support and being there for someone during difficult times, which can be relevant to the imbalance and problems within a family caused by illness.

3. Movies:
- "Still Alice" (2014): This film portrays the impact of early-onset Alzheimer's disease on a family and relationships, shedding light on the struggles, imbalances, and conflicts that can arise.
- "The Fault in Our Stars" (2014): Focusing on the lives of two teenagers with cancer, this movie explores how illness affects not only a person but their loved ones as well.

4. Other Novels:
- "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" by Kim Edwards: This book delves into the effects of a father's decision to keep his daughter's disability secret, ultimately leading to emotional turbulence within the family.
- "Everything I Never Told You" by Celeste Ng: This novel revolves around the tragic death of a teenager and the subsequent impact on her family, exploring themes of grief, blame, and internal turmoil.

For a fun and creative presentation, you can consider using multimedia elements like slides, images, and video clips to visually represent the mediums and their connection to your thesis. Additionally, you could incorporate short dramatic readings or performances of selected poems, songs, or scenes from movies to engage your audience further.
