So on this worksheet i am doing, we have to find the nth term, given "s" sub "n". I got up to the point of the quadratic, set it equal to zero, but can not find the correct factors. can anyone help?

n(squared)+10n-4544=0

n(squared)-6n-420=0

n(squared)+6n-276

n^2 = n squared online

n^2 + 6n -276

Find prime factors of 276 = 2 * 3 * 2 * 23 to see what combination will add to 6. Unfortunately, the closest I can get is +23 and -12 to get -276, but that adds to +11 rather than 6.

n^2 - 6n - 420

420 = 2 * 2 * 5 * 3 * 7. However, again I cannot find a combination of factors that will add to -6.

Can you do better with the first equation?
