i am inthe 4th grade and need to write a composition. Can someone out there tell me what it is and give me an example.

Were you given any guidelines, for example, how many paragraphs it should have? First of all, pick a subject that interests you. Then write a thesis statement which tells what your essay will "proove." Here are some sample thesis ststements:

Let's say it is a single paragraph first. If it is to be more, that's easy to make the first paragraph the introduction, the 2nd the facts you have to say about the subject and the 3rd is the conclusion. For a single paragraph:

A multi-paragraph is usually five-paragraphs:

So, you need to write a paper,or an "essay." You probably need to write five paragraphs, unless your rubric tells you otherwise.Pick an interesting topic, even if you don't know a lot about it because you can always search it on the computer. It can be really fun to write a paper, so make it interesting and include an opening that really "draws" your readers in!:)
