How would you put this in your own words. My teacher gave this to us as an example and were suppose to fix it to make it stronger.

I deserve this scholarship, because I have the ability to follow through with all the hard work it will take to achieve my dreams and my goals. I believe in myself and I believe, with this scholarship, it will give me the foundation I need to build a better me, and enable me to become a person who makes a difference in this world. "

I'd start it with the strongest statement.

I want to make a difference in the world.

Then include how you want to make a difference and your abilities to achieve these goals.
