I am having trouble with a journal entry and how to do with in first person. And finding one to do because I have all kinds of mixtures of blood, I am Indian, Irish, German, and others. So what do I write about?

What do you consider yourself? What is the strongest influence/

In the first person, keep using "I" ("I am....", "I believe....", "I think....").

Write about what has happened to you along with your feelings and thoughts about what happened.

When writing a journal entry in the first person, you have the freedom to express your thoughts, feelings, and experiences from your own perspective. While your diverse background may initially appear challenging, it actually opens up numerous possibilities for you to write about. Here's a step-by-step process to help you come up with a topic for your journal entry:

1. Reflect on your experiences: Think about the various aspects of your life — both past and present. Consider your cultural heritage, personal beliefs, family traditions, and any distinct experiences that have shaped your identity.

2. Identify significant moments: Focus on moments or events that have had a profound impact on you. These could be encounters with different cultures, personal challenges, celebrations, travel experiences, family dynamics, or any unique circumstances that have played a role in shaping your identity.

3. Choose a specific topic: Select one particular event or experience that stands out to you. It could be based on a particular culture you identify with or an incident that highlights the complexity of your diverse heritage.

4. Explore your emotions and reflections: Start writing by describing your emotions, thoughts, and impressions related to the chosen topic. Open up about how it made you feel, what you learned, any challenges you faced, and how it impacted your self-perception.

5. Connect with others: Consider how your experience relates to those of others with similar or different backgrounds. Reflect on commonalities you share, explore differences that may have arisen, or discuss moments of cultural integration and understanding.

6. Embrace authenticity: Understand that your personal story is unique and valuable. Write in a way that reflects your true self, embracing both your individuality and your diverse heritage.

Remember, the goal of a journal entry is to express yourself and explore your own thoughts and feelings. It can be a space for self-discovery, contemplation, and personal growth. Embrace the richness of your background, embrace your uniqueness, and let your journal entry become a place for exploration and self-expression.
