Can anyone tell me what the following markings mean on a pendant...appears to be brass.

India B136

Thank you...

Interesting that I have seen other pendants with the same markings but they were clay. In this case, as India does many beautiful brass things, the B could be for Brass. Often the number represents a certain percentage of brass. Are there any other markings whatsoever on the pendant?

I'm still searching and if I find more, I'll add that.

Certainly! The markings on a pendant can provide valuable information about its origin and materials. Let's break down the markings you mentioned:

1. "India": This marking indicates the country of origin, suggesting that the pendant was made in India. It is common for manufacturers or artisans to include the country of origin to indicate the item's cultural roots.

2. "B136": This marking is likely a unique identifier or a code specific to the manufacturer or designer. However, without further context or research, it is challenging to determine its exact meaning.

To gain a better understanding of the pendant, you could try a few methods:

1. Online research: Start by searching for similar markings or pendants online. Websites, forums, or online marketplaces might offer insights from collectors, experts, or sellers who have encountered similar pieces.

2. Contacting the manufacturer: If you have any information about the company or artisan responsible for the pendant, you could reach out to them directly. They may be able to provide additional details or clarify the meaning behind the markings.

3. Consulting a professional: If the pendant holds significant value or if you are particularly interested in learning more, consider taking it to an appraiser, jeweler, or antique specialist. They possess expertise in assessing and identifying various jewelry pieces and may be able to provide more information based on the pendant's characteristics.

By utilizing these methods, you should be able to gather more information about the markings on your pendant and gain a better understanding of its significance.
