Homework Help: geometry

The Perimeter of a rectangle is 600. The length of the rectangle is 2 more than 3 times the width.

How do i turn this into an equation without solving it??

P = 2L + 2W

P = 2(3W + 2) + 2W
P = 6W + 4 + 2W
P = 8W + 4
