How do you do this problem because i feel like i did it wrong

(3��2 + 4)^2

(3��2 + 4)(3��2 + 4)
9��4 + 12��2 + 12��2 + 16
9*2��2 + 12��2 + 12��2 + 16
18��2 + 12��2 + 12��2 + 16 =
42��2 + 16
