Homework Help: math

I have a math problem where I am trying to carpet a hallway of an irregular shape.The cost of the carpet is $ 10.80
a sq.yd. How many square yds. will I need? I also need to know the perimeter
for string molding. Can you help me.
The measurements are 6ft,2ft,3ft,8ft,8ft,1ft,2ft, and 4ft.
The string molding is $5.75 a strip.

I assume that the measurements you give are various widths of the hallway. If so, how far do each of these widths continue in the hallway?
