Homework Help: art

Can some one please help me with this question. It is for an art class, and im having trouble with this paper. I don't understand what the terms mean. I have looked them up but i still dont get them.

• View the Neoclassic piece, The Emperor Napoleon in His Study at the Tuileries, by Jacques Louis David on the National Gallery of Art Web site located on this week’s student Web page.

· View the Impressionist piece, The Luncheon of the Boating Party, by Pierre-Auguste Renoir on the Phillips Collection Web site located on this week’s student Web page.

· Click on the link to go to the home page of the Phillips Collection Web site.

o Select Collection.

o Click on the Luncheon of the Boating Party from the drop down menu on the left hand side of the screen

· View the Abstract Expressionist piece, Autumn Rhythm (Number 30), by Jackson Pollock on the Metropolitan Museum of Art Web site located on this week’s student Web page.

· Click on the link to go to the home page of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

o Select Works of Art.

o In the Search box type in Autumn Rhythm, and select the first item that comes up.

· Write a 500- to 700-word summary in APA format that compares and contrasts Neoclassicism, Impressionism, and Abstract Expressionism. Use the selected artwork as your examples for each. Include the following in your discussion:

o How each style reflects its era and the culture

o Discussion of painting techniques

o Formal elements
