a worker in a city parks need to cover a circular path around the outside of a flower garden with gravel. the radius of the garden is 15 feet and the path surrounding the garden is 6 feet wide. how many square feet need to be covered with gravel? expalin how you arrived at your answer

You need to find the area of both circles. Then subtract the area of the inner circle from the outer circle.

A = pi * r^2
A = 3.14 * 15^2
A = 3.14 * 225
A = 706.5 square feet

A = 3.14 * 21^2
A = 3.14 * 441
A = 1384.74 square feet

1384.74 - 706.5 = ?
