The sun moves from east to west during the day. A shadow of something located at a window would move in the opposite direction, west to east, on an interior wall of the room. The amount that the shadow moves will depend upon latitude, because there is also some up and down motion of the shadow, but the light beam changes direction by about 15 degrees per hour. The shadow will move about 30% of the room's dimension per hour.
