I have to convert the following pressures into torr:
1. 2.48x10^-3atm
2. 4.75x10^6atm
3. 7.60x10^6
i have no idea how to convert it when there are scientific notations involved. please help =]]
2.48 x 10^-3. You CAN solve your problem of "not handling" exponents by rewriting the number as 0.00248. The conversion factor is 1 atm = 760 torr.
2.48 x 10^-3 atm x (760 torr/1 atm) = 1.88 torr. Or the other way is 0.00248 x 760 = 1.88 torr.
Do you not know how to punch it in on your calculator. Do you have an instruction manual? On my calculator, I punch in 2.48E-3 and multiply by 760.
