I need help with making a thesis for a paper on preventing teens from becoming teen parents.

These are the two best webpages I've seen on how to write GOOD thesis statements.

Remember that your thesis statement needs to include your topic and your opinion (your position, your stance) about that topic ... what you intend to prove by the end of your paper.

You'll also need to narrow your topic; what you stated above is too broad for a paper. (People write whole books on your topic!!)

Please post a draft of your thesis statement after you have read all these linked webpages.

Be sure to read this over, too:

Thank you but that didn't help me much.

To create a strong thesis statement for a paper on preventing teens from becoming teen parents, you need to clearly state your main argument and the key points you will use to support it. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to craft a thesis statement:

1. Identify the main issue: In this case, the issue is preventing teens from becoming teen parents.
2. Analyze the scope of the problem: Examine the consequences, challenges, and statistics related to teen pregnancy.
3. Determine your stance: Consider the strategies, interventions, or factors that can effectively prevent teens from becoming parents.
4. Formulate your main argument: Create a clear and concise statement that presents your position on the issue. Your thesis statement should be a debatable claim that can be supported with evidence.

Below are some examples of thesis statements for your paper:

1. Through comprehensive sex education programs, access to affordable contraception, and parental involvement, society can effectively prevent teens from becoming teenage parents.
Explanation: This thesis presents three key strategies—sex education, access to contraception, and parental involvement—that can aid in preventing teenage pregnancy.

2. By addressing the underlying social determinants such as poverty, education, and family support, communities can create a conducive environment that reduces the rates of teenage pregnancy.
Explanation: This thesis focuses on the broader social factors that contribute to teenage pregnancy and suggests that addressing these determinants would be key in prevention.

3. Promoting comprehensive sex education, promoting healthy relationships, and providing access to reproductive healthcare are essential approaches for preventing teenage pregnancy and its subsequent consequences.
Explanation: This thesis highlights three specific approaches—sex education, healthy relationships, and healthcare—that can be implemented to prevent teenage pregnancy effectively.

Remember, your thesis statement should reflect your main argument and provide a roadmap for the rest of your paper. As you research and gather evidence to support your thesis, ensure that each point in your paper aligns with your thesis statement.
