These statistics are difficult to ascertain for several reasons. The homeless aren't always visible. Someone may be homeless for a week and then find lodging. Some may be homeless for a lot longer. Some do not go to homeless shelters so are nearly impossible to count.
From these sites, the most reliable information seems to be the one that estimates that in Dade, an average of 1,347 seek shelter each night.
