label the width x + 1

label the length x + 5

then

area = (x+1)(x+5)

which is

x^2 + 6 x + 5

(x+1) and (x+5)

x+1+x+5 = 180

2x+6 = 180

2x=180 - 6

2x=174

x=174/2

x= 87
