Homework Help: 5th grade math

The library has 2,000 books. The books are sorted 500 children,fiction and nonfiction. There are 200 more fiction than nonfiction. How many fiction and nonfiction books are there?

There are 950 fiction books and 550 nonfiction books is my answer how would I write an equation to answer this? Thanks

950 + 550 does not equal 2000.
try an equation set equal to 2000 and go from there
