Homework Help: Algebra

Solve using the multiplication principle. Don't forget to check.
-x/2=8.
Here is how I did the problem but I think it's wrong.
(-2/x)-x/2=8(-2/x)
x= -16.
Could you please help? Thanks.

yes, it is wrong.
multipy both sides by -2
-2(-x/2))=-2(8)
