y+2x=3, y+2x=-4

Somtething seems to be wrong with this question to me. This is what i got:[substitution method]

y+2x=3 (1)
y+2x=-4 (2)

from equation (2)y+2x+-4 => y=-4+2x call this equation (3)

substitute equation (3) in equation (1)

-4+2x+2x=3
4x=7
x=7/4

for x =7/4, substitute x in equation (3)
y= -4+2(7/4)
y=-4+7/2
y=-1/2

x=7/4 , y=-1/2

but when i plug the values for x & y into equation (1) i get back the answer e but I am not getting back -4 when i plug the values of x and y into equation (2)....something could be wrong with ur question....
