i have a lab where we used VI method to calculate resistance of a LARGE resistor...

circuit is as follows..(--- indicates wire)

source---ammeter---resistor(voltmeter connected in parralel to resistor)---(connected back to source)

the R value calculated was wrong. i need to move ONE connection to obtain a more accurate R value..i have no clue which it is... what do i move & where?!?!

I would have made certain of my voltmeter offered small resistance as compared to the R. If not, the voltmeter should be placed across the source, then the ammeter is reading only the current through the resistor.
