mary had 10 yards 2 feet of ribbon. She needed to cut peices for her 3 friends. If each friend got the same amount of ribbon, how much did each get? In your answer, there cannot be more than 12 inches.

10 yards, 2 feet = 32 feet
32/3 = 10 2/3 feet = 10 feet, 8 inches 
10 feet 8 inches = 3 yards, 1 foot, 8 inches
