3y+5-2y+3=6y+5-6y
y + 8 = 5
y = -3
I don't get how you got the answer. What steps did you do?
3y+5-2y+3=6y+5-6y
First, combined like terms.
y + 8 = 5
Subtracted 8 from both sides of the equation.
y = -3
