Homework Help: math algebra

Trains A and B are traveling in the same direction on parallel tracks. Train A is traveling at 80 miles per hour and train B is travleing at 100 miles per hour. Train A pases a station at 3:20. If train B passes the same station at 3:35 pm, at what time will train B cathc up tp tain A?

When train B goes by the station, they are 80 x (1/4) = 20 miles apart.

The distance between the trains decreases at a rate 100 - 80 = 20 mph.

It will take one hour to close the gap.

That will occur at 4:35 PM
