Hi i would like to tell you that the moon revolves around the earth so somewere close to the earth or around it would be fine!!!!
The moon rotates in a circle around Earth so sometimes it is between Earth and mars and sometimes it is not. You can put the moon anywhere around the Earth and your model will come out perfect :)
