Rajen chose a secret number and gave these clues to his friends. the number is even and it is divisible by 3, three times the number is less than 60 but greater than 40. what is Rajen's number?

If the number is even and divisible by 3, it must also be divisible by 6.
The number itself must be less than 60/3 (20) and greater than 40/3, which (for an integer) would make it 14 or greater
There is only one number between 13 and 19 that is divisible by 6.
That will be your "secret number".
