Eddie told Alex and his dad that Lao Xu was just doing his job by reporting all of their activities back to his superiors. Alex felt bad because he liked Lao Xu, who was becoming his friend, but he was just an informer.
His father told him try to attached him a lot. (I don't understand what this sentence means.)
The next day, he (Who is he? Replace it with a name.) was bored and wanted to go home because he couldn't watch T.V, couldn't talk to anybody, and his dad too busy. He heard his dad, Eddie, and Lao Xu in the office.

What does the underlined word mean?
In the second to last sentence, it should say:
couldn't talk to anybody, and his dad WAS too busy.
