A random sample of size 20 from a normal population will sample mean 42 and sample standard deviation of 6 . To test the hypothesis the population mean 44 at 5% level of significance , find the pvalue and comment

Ho: mean1 = mean2
H1: mean1 ≠ mean2
Z = (mean 1 mean2)/ (SD/sq rt N)
Find Z value and look it up in table in the back of your statistics text called something like "areas under normal distribution" to get p value.
I hope this helps.
