-b+-sqrt(b^2-4ac) / 2a

3x^2-2x-4=0

a = 3

b = -2

c= -4

-(-2) +- sqrt((-2)^2-4(3)(-4))/ 2(3)

= 2 +- sqrt(52) / 6
