What is the difference between part-time employee and telecommuting?

The definiton of a part time employee will change depending on the country and in the US the state. For example in the UK there is no definition of a part time employee as such, although there is definition of a part-time worker which applies as from 1st July 2000 for the purposes of the Part-time Workers (Prevention of Less Favourable Treatment) Regulations 2000 and there is also a definition of part time employment in the Social Security rules.

Telecommuting means employment at home while communicating with the workplace by phone, fax, modem, e-mail etc.

A telecommuting employye could be full or part time.
