Did you even read what I wrote?
http://www.jiskha.com/display.cgi?id=1260101043
Do these lines indicate a "solemn" tone or something stronger?
before which your mother kneels
praying with embarrassing fervor (ll. 12-13)
You wrote, "She tells three kids..."
What three? And are they offspring of goats? Or are they humans?
In what you wrote above, you have made statements without back-up. You need to quote lines from the poem (with line numbers, I might add) to prove your statements.

I read what you wrote but I'm a little confused..the son did forget the climate of his birthplace, choke out the voice of dead relatives, spurn the clothes he was born to wear, etc. so now all his mother can do is tell him that it's a dangerous thing..but how does that tell the tone of the poem and how the speaker feels about it? I've been on this forever and reallyy need to get it done so please explain a little further.
Thanks

"praying with fervor" -- if you're not clear on the meaning of "fervor," be sure to use a good dictionary.

MC What is your mom's tone of voice when she tells you "Don't do that! It is dangerous!"
Poetry is personal not intellectual...Feel poetry! What does she feel will happen to her son if he forgets who he is, where he comes from?
So, she's demanding? and I think she feels that if her son forgets all these things, he'll die in a cold, bare room filled with loneliness...

She's frightened. She's praying like crazy for his soul.
Come on ... feel the emotion here!
OK, but then the tone of this poem is demanding as she tells the three [human] kids that el olvido is a dangerous thing?

I'm soo confused :(

Hey- I'm doing this question also. I think that what she is is passionate. She feels very strongly. She is also a little bit desperate. Hope this helps! p.s. how do you know she's talking to three children?
