Homework Help: English Essay

Hi, this is my first paragraph to my essay on Hamlet. Please provide any feedback.

Hamlet, a tragedy by Shakespeare, follows a downward spiral of the kingdom of Denmark. King Claudius plants a seed of corruption that initiates this spiral. Both simile and metaphor prove that Claudius symbolizes a disease that corrupts Denmark.
