Homework Help: 10th grade English

I'm writing an essay for English class. I was just wondering if somebody could read over this sentence and tell me whether or not it sounds alright.

Everybody wants to be happy, but we often forget how easy it can be to attain hold of that happiness due to tragedies in our lives.

The word "attain" is the wrong word to use in this sentence.

You could change it to

". . . forget how easy it is to lose that happiness . . ."
