I have to write a paper on vases from Geometric to Orientalizing periods.(from ancient Greece).

So these are my Thesis Statements:

"My paper is about the representations of animals and humans form on the vases from the Geometric to Orieltalizing periods."

or
"My paper is about the representations of animals forms and funeral processions on the vases from the Geometric to Orieltalizing periods."

I am going to choose one but I am wondering if both of my thesis statements make sense.
Thanks

Neither of those is a good thesis statement.

Your thesis statement should state the changes or evolution of these representations from the Geometric to the Orientalizing (note spelling) periods.

Both of your thesis statements make sense, but they focus on slightly different aspects of the vases from the Geometric to Orientalizing periods in ancient Greece. Let's break down each statement:

1. "My paper is about the representations of animals and humans on the vases from the Geometric to Orientalizing periods."

This thesis statement suggests that your paper will explore how animals and humans were represented on the vases during the mentioned periods. You would likely discuss the artistic techniques used to depict both animals and humans, the symbolism behind their representations, and any significant changes or developments in the iconography over time.

2. "My paper is about the representations of animal forms and funeral processions on the vases from the Geometric to Orientalizing periods."

In this thesis statement, you're focusing on two specific topics: animal forms and funeral processions. You would likely analyze how animal forms were portrayed on the vases and explore the significance of these representations. Additionally, you would investigate the depictions of funeral processions, considering their purpose, the rituals depicted, and any variations in representation between the Geometric and Orientalizing periods.

Ultimately, both thesis statements are valid, and your choice should depend on which aspect you find more intriguing or the angle you wish to take in your paper.
