Homework Help Forum: Geometry

Posted by Gianna on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 4:21pm.

Write an equation for the line containing the given points.

(2,3) and (4, -4)

How would I do this? I understand that first, you find the slope, but how do you find the y intercept? Thank you. :)

    y=mx+b
    you know how to get m.

    Now put one of the x,y points into the equation and solve for b, the y intercept.
