what is the speed needed to launch a space crop in outer space?

  A launch speed of 7 miles per second is required for any mass to escape the Earth's gravity. That is called the "escape velocity". A higher speed, 26 miles/sec, is required to escape the solar system (if launched from Earth). Why would you want to launch crops?
