Homework Help Forum: Spanish

Hi, I was wondering if you would use "era" or "fue" in these sentences:

La persona que se murió más recientemente era (fue?) una mujer.

El deiciocho de agosto era (fue?) la fecha que ella fue al hospital.

Thanks for the help!

La persona que se murio mas recientemente fue una mujer.

El deiciocho de agosto era la fecha que ella fue al hospital.

"Fue" is past tense of the verb "to be" or "to go". "Era" is USED TO BE. Remember that to help you in other sentences. Hope that helped!

Are you sure? I was thinking the first one is era because it describes a person.
