so he weiged 179-5=174 pounds.
"and lost 26 pounds" to weigh 174 pounds,
so he used to weigh 174+26=200 pounds
"david gained 14 pounds over the winter." so he weighed 200-14=186 pounds.
Check 186+14-26+5=179 pounds
