Create two fractions. 72/100 = ?/200 Then, cross multiply, which is multiplying 200 by 72, then dividing by 100. Then, you'll get your answer.

72/100=x/200
**cross mulitply:
100x=72*200
100x=14400
x=14400/100
x=144
______
Or just multiply .72 by 200
.72*200=144
