Homework Help Forum: Geography (Ms.Sue)

Posted by mysterychicken on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 11:37am.

Yesterday I asked this question-
29. One of Eastern Europe's most valuablee natural resouces, sometimes called its "lifeline" is the
a. Volga river
b. Danube river
c. Rhine river
d. Oder river

I asked my teacher because I was stuck between A and B and she told me to go with what my textbook says which is B and sometimes google searches aren't accurate...

Thanks

I agree with the Danube. The key here is "Eastern Europe". The Oder is not a significant commercial river, the Volga is, but it is used in Russia, and does not extend to any ports. The Danube cuts across Eastern Europe, ends in the Black Sea, which connects with the Med.
