Carbohydrates are various combinations of sugar units, or saccharides, and are the major energy source for the body. Each gram of carbohydrate contains four calories. The average person requires approximately 2,000 calories per day. Since about 60 % of our calories come from carbohydrates, it is recommended that 1,200 of our daily coloric intake from carbohydrates.

What is the stated main idea in this paragraph?

I believe the answer is D but I'm not sure
