i tried to figure out if 5/3 would be a solution for 6x^2-11x-35=0. i got -0.21 on the left side. is this close enough to 0 that it would count because my book said it was indeed equal to the right side.
Your equation factors into
(3x + 5)(2x - 7) = 0
so x = -5/3 or x = 7/2
5/3 is clearly not a solution, is there a typo ?
