how do I add sounds with my animation when using powerpoint

With any MS Office program, you should press the F1 key and type in your question. (The F1 key is the universal "help" key.)

Once you find the directions for adding sound, you can print out the directions to make it easier to follow them and work in the PowerPoint file at the same time.

I tried to do the same thing and could not, I had to use windows movie maker instead, turned out great!

To add sounds to your animation in PowerPoint, follow these steps:

1. Open your PowerPoint presentation and navigate to the slide where you want to add the sound.

2. Go to the "Insert" tab in the PowerPoint ribbon and click on the "Audio" button.

3. You have two options:
- From File: If you already have the sound file on your computer, select this option to browse for the sound file and insert it.
- Online Audio: Choose this option to search for and insert audio from Microsoft's online audio library.

4. Once you insert the sound file, it will appear as a small speaker icon on your slide.

5. To configure how the sound plays during your animation, select the speaker icon and go to the "Playback" tab that appears in the ribbon.

6. In the "Audio Options" group, use the "Start" dropdown menu to specify whether the sound should automatically play, play on click, or play when a certain animation occurs.

7. Optionally, you can also set additional options like "Fade In" and "Fade Out" effects, volume control, and looping.

8. Preview your animation by playing the slideshow or using the "Preview" button under the "Playback" tab to ensure the sound is as desired.

Note: Make sure to keep the sound file and the PowerPoint presentation in the same folder to avoid any issues with playing the sound.

Following these steps will enable you to add sounds to your animations in PowerPoint.
