i have to simply the expression

3x squared-10+4x+8-x squared, so far i have this

1x squared+4x-2
3x squared-1xsqaured+4x -10+8
2x squared+4x-2

i know its kinda confusing becasue i type sqaured so many time, am i on the right track?how do i find the answer now? i'm so confused :(

You are OK as far as you went.

3x^2 -10 +4x +8 -x^2 = 2x^2 +4x -2
= 2(x^2 +2x -1)
That cannot be factored easily, so it is as simplified as it is going to get.

Yes, you are on the right track! Simplifying expressions can sometimes be confusing, but breaking it down step by step can make it easier to understand.

To simplify the expression 3x^2 - 10 + 4x + 8 - x^2, you have already correctly combined like terms. However, there is one mistake in your equations. Let's correct it:

1x^2 + 4x - 2 (correct)
3x^2 - 1x^2 + 4x - 10 + 8 (incorrect)

The correct equation should be:
3x^2 - x^2 + 4x - 10 + 8

To simplify further, you need to combine like terms. For example, combine the terms with x^2 and the terms without x^2, then combine the constant terms:

(3x^2 - x^2) + (4x) + (-10 + 8)
= 2x^2 + 4x - 2

So, after combining like terms, the simplified expression is 2x^2 + 4x - 2.

Remember to carefully combine similar terms and pay attention to signs (+ or -) while simplifying.
