Essay Topic:

Taken as a whole, what would you say is the single most pressing problem found in Latin America or South America? What possible solutions can you develop?

This is what I have:

I think the most pressing problem found in South America is poverty. It’s caused by unequal distribution of wealth, migration, internal conflicts and structural adjustments. South American poverty is becoming a threat to social and political stability as well as public security because drug addiction is a result of this.
Poverty in South America leads to environmental issues, which is why solving this matter should be a major duty of the government.
Some solutions are adequate food supply for everyone, proper management of natural resources, regional integration should be given importance, and more financial aid programs should be developed. I’m sure if the government tries to work to solve this problem, poverty will decrease in South America.

Is this OK?
