Homework Help: math (how do i solve the last part)

Posted by Keisha on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 11:46am.

The functions f and g are defined by:
f:x 3x-2
g:x 2x+5

Evaluate:g(-6), fg(3)
g(-6)= 2(-6)+5= -7
fg(3)= 3(2x+5)-2
6x+15-2
6(3)+13 = 31
Evaluate f(x)=8, calculate the value of x
