Jules Verne in 1865 proposede sending men to the moon by firing a space capsule from a 220-m-long cannon with final velocity of 10.97 km/s. what would have beed the unrealistically large accelerationexperienced travels during launch? compare your answer with the free-fall acceleration 9.8m/s2? i dont understand what i have to do?

the change of speed per second = acceleration = 10970 m/s / number of seconds t

what is t?
average speed in barrel = 10970/2
(10970/2)t = 220
so
t = 440 / 10970 seconds in barrel

so
a = 10970^2/440

now divide that by 9.8 to see how many g s that is (huge)
