Ok, so I never really got grammar that well and I'm terrible when it comes to having to look for things like verbs and nouns etc... in paragraphs can you please help me with a paragraph to find all of the action, linking, transitive and auziliary verbs?

Sure, we'll be glad to help you. Please copy your paragraph here, capitalizing all of the verbs that you can find.

This is an excellent site to learn how to identify verbs.

Of course! I'll be glad to help you identify the different types of verbs in a paragraph. Here's a sample paragraph:

"John walked to the park with his dog. They enjoyed a leisurely stroll under the setting sun. John threw a ball, and his dog eagerly chased after it. The children playing nearby watched in delight. Eventually, John and his dog sat down on a bench to rest."

To identify each type of verb, follow these steps:

1. Action Verbs: These verbs describe a physical or mental action.
- In this paragraph, the action verbs are "walked," "enjoyed," "threw," chased," "watched," and "sat."

2. Linking Verbs: These verbs connect the subject to additional information that describes or identifies it.
- In this paragraph, there are no linking verbs.

3. Transitive Verbs: These verbs require an object to complete their meaning.
- In this paragraph, the transitive verb is "threw." The object of the verb is "a ball."

4. Auxiliary (Helping) Verbs: These verbs assist the main verb in forming different tenses, moods, voices, or conditions.
- In this paragraph, there are no auxiliary verbs.

Remember that verbs express actions, states of being, or occurrences in a sentence. By carefully reading the paragraph and categorizing the verbs, you can better understand their role within the sentence.
