**Reiny**, Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 9:57amThis question has the identical structure as the one I just answered for you.

Surely you can follow that example.

Let me know what answer you got.

**jessica**, Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 10:09ammy answer is x=5 is it correct?

**Reiny**, Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 10:14amno,

when subbing that back in you would get angles of 34 and 62, which obviously do not add up to 180 as they should

How did you possibly get x = 5 ?

**jessica**, Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 10:20amThis is what I did 2(x+12)= 2(5x+6)

2x+24+10x+12

12x=60

x=5

If not correct cn u give me the right one?...tnx

**Dr Russ**, Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 10:56amTry it exactly the same way as the other one

2(x+12) + 2(5x+6) =180

2x+24+10x+12 =180

12x+36=180

12x=144

x=12

which gives 48 and 132 as the angles.
