As those sites indicate, a good teacher has thorough knowledge of her subject matter. For a preschool teacher, this involves being able to present a simple concept in several ways.
For instance, one of the school's goals might be to teach the children to count 20 items in at least three languages. Good teachers will know these numbers and model them orally. They will also help the children mimic the model. They provide practice counting actual items (blocks, grapes, M & Ms, etc. They will also provide paper and pencil practice counting items. These will probably be daily exercises until all or most children have thoroughly mastered counting items in three different languages.
