What have you learned about legislation, Native Americans, and the federal government?

Lol.. Yes it is. I am very embarrassed to admit it. I have stumbled across this subject and I am having a very difficult time finding the resources to answer this question. I have an idea but not sure if it is correct. I was thinking on the lines of Gambling on tribal lands and how the government stepped in to back their venue with no protest.
I want an idea or direction of which way to go in answering this information. A jump start is what I am looking for and I can take it from there. Any assistance you can offer would be more than appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help.
